Training Programs

 

At the Kent Institute, our training programs are designed around "quality" rather than "quantity" of students. In the same way that Jeet Kune Do is not a "one-size-fits-all" martial art, the primary focus of our training programs is the personal cultivation of each individual.

We offer our students a rational, well thought-out, dynamic program of "TOTAL" martial art training designed to develop every facet of their combative arsenal and encompassing all facets of self defense, including:

 

  • Footwork and Mobility skills

 

  • Striking with the various weapons of the body such as hands, feet, elbows, knees, etc.

 

  • Stand-up grappling skills including hand-trapping, joint-locking, chokes, throws and takedowns, etc.

 

  • Ground-fighting skills

 

  • Realistic, street-effective self-defense skills

 

  • Weaponry training -- weapon vs. weapon, empty hand vs. weapon

(NOTE - "Young Warrior's" Program is on Temporary Hiatus)

One-On-One Training

One-on-one private training sessions are designed to serve the needs of busy people with hectic schedules, such as executives and business professionals, single parents, and individuals who either do not have the time to devote to training 3-5 hours per week in a group class environment, or prefer not to.

Private training allows a person of any gender or level of physical condition to explore the potentials of their body and mind in a safe, professional, non-competitive environment that is free from external distractions. 

Benefits of private training include:

  • Time Flexibility – Clients book appointments to fit their schedule
     

  • Personalized Training Programs – Each program is specifically designed to fit the student’s fitness and technical level, as well as their desires, goals, etc.
     

  • Individualized Attention – Student spends the entire time practicing on the instructor who provides constant feedback and guidance as the student perfects the actions
