At CKJKD we want to give a voice and be a microphone for those people who are truly passionate about Jeet Kune Do -- Who want to see it grow and flourish -- Who want the heritage but who are not stuck in the past -- Who don't simply want to boxcar the art to a collection of other martial arts they teach or offer as part of their curriculum -- Who want to see the art assume its proper place in the martial arts world -- We want to serve those people.

The essence of Chris Kent Jeet Kune Do is based on our love of the art, science, and philosophy of Jeet Kune Do. With deep roots in JKD culture, we're dedicated to sharing JKD with the world and helping people develop a clear and true understanding of the incredible martial art and philosophy developed by Bruce Lee.  We feel we have a responsibility to educate those unfamiliar with the art and grow the JKD culture.

Our mission is to add value to the art, practitioners and instructors by informing, inspiring, and motivating through the distribution and sharing of knowledge. An integral and essential part of our mission is  to provide an authentic, accurate, balanced and informative platform to serve people, enhance their performance in JKD, and stimulate progress in the JKD world.

We believe that Jeet Kune Do is much more than simply an idea or a concept --  it's an art, a science and a philosophy. We also firmly believe that the core or "soul" of JKD is a state of being; a dynamic, fluid, liberated way of thinking as opposed to a static or "fixed" body of martial art knowledge. Jeet Kune Do is a 'vehicle'  -- a process for personal liberation, not only in martial arts, but in all aspects of life.

We want to help people have a better and stronger relation- ship with the art. At CKJKD part of our overall goal is to share with people and to help them develop a deeper under- standing, not only of physical JKD techniques and training methods, but also of the thought processes Bruce utilized in his personal martial evolution and in developing Jeet Kune Do.

At CKJKD we believe in the individual. We believe in human potential; the potential that resides in each and every person. And we believe that if we can inspire them and help them cultivate the necessary tools and develop essential skills, they'll do great things. Our goal is to serve as a facilitator to assist individuals in achieving personal excellence, not only in martial arts, but in life as well.

At CKJKD we refuse to allow ourselves to be pigeon-holed, defined or labeled as part of any of the various camps or factions that exist in the JKD world today -- and we don't

pigeon-hole other people either.

It's not what JKD can do for you, but rather, what you can do utilizing JKD as a 'tool' or 'vehicle'.
